Prepare to challenge yourself on the newest adventure for the true 4x4 and Enduro enthusiast. The Great Arc, which is set to become the 'Paris-Dakar' of India takes you from the tip of India in the South to Hyderabad in a straight line!!, following in the steps of the Great Arc Survey of 1800-1850.

The survey was overseen by two great men, William Lambton, who reached Hyderabad before expiring, and George Everest - yes, the man who had a mountain named after him, who finished the survey.

We will be following in the steps of Lambton who instigated the great survey which was created for two reason: firstly to measure the curvature of the earth and secondly to establish a map of India.

For 2008 there will be two classes: 1) 4x4 Offroaders 2) Enduro Motorcycles.

Driving or riding as close to the 77th.41 Meridian as you can The Great Arc challenges you to take the shortest straight line route through the heart of India to win this momentous event.
